Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator Job Description

Location: Reading, Pennsylvania

Job Description:
General Description

The Community Outreach Coordinator is an experienced professional responsible for increasing community awareness, engaging new donors, and cultivating existing donor relationships and strategic partnerships that will lead to an increase in supporters through community outreach activities. This includes assisting with grant writing as needed and assisting the development/fundraising committee. In addition, the Community Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director to build relationships yielding an increase in potential advocates through working on the public image and reach of the program through an appropriate online presence and regular communication with media.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Individual Donor Cultivation

o Meet with and engage both individual and corporate donors

o Work with Executive Director and Board of Directors to reach out to and engage new donors

o Build regular communication framework that includes, empowers, and engages donors

o Plan and facilitate annual Community Awareness Breakfast

o Create and implement a planned giving strategy

· Corporate Donor Cultivation

o Identify corporate mission partners

o Create cultivation plans specific to each corporation

o Work with Executive Director to engage and build investment based relationships with corporations

· Special Events

o Work with Executive Director and committees to successfully implement and grow current special events

o Analyze successes and shortcomings of events to continually work to improve event

Secondary Responsibilities:

· Work with Executive Director to increase grants’ revenue and manage grant reporting

· Assist with volunteer advocate recruitment as necessary

· Assist with program events and training as needed

Education/ Experience

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree; three years of development and marketing experience highly desirable with documented successful partnership cultivation experience.

· Establishes clear expectations and continuously measures performance

· Self-started with the ability to manage time effectively

· The ability to meet and engage new individuals in a variety of settings and building relationships with a wide range of personalities

· Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications

· A high degree of integrity in dealing with confidential donor financial information
