Communication Specialist - Purchase Operations Area
Philadelphia (Conshohocken), PA

The professional we select for this vital role will support the business with strategic and tactical communication, contributing to the implementation of business strategies, delivering to business needs. Will Coach and support leaders and co-workers on what communication channels to use and how to use them to reach the best effect for the business purpose. Responsible to build, strengthen and protect the IKEA brand, culture and values.

Responsibilities include:
* Advise, mentor, coach and train leaders and co-workers to build communication competence
* Support in creating simple and clear communication message, making it understandable and inspiring for the target group
* Lead, execute and follow up communication projects to support the development of the supplier market communication
* Provide, maintain and develop communication solutions, enabling effective communication on the supplier market
* Secure the IKEA tone of voice by providing relevant guidelines, tools and templates
* Cooperate with other IKEA organizations, in the region, to secure presence in relevant forums in order to make sure IKEA Purchasing Communication in the region is fulfilled.
* Support Purchase Operations Management in the communication with local authorities
* At any time, act as an ambassador of IKEA values and Role Model for Fact-based Business leadership
* As a member of the Communication Matrix in Purchasing, lead and/or contribute to cross-category areas /global projects
* Support process for change management and communication together with HR and other leaders that engages co-workers in finding ways to leave the old and embrace the new for each defined and agreed change
* Secure an effective communication channel landscape
* Ensure that co-workers have the information and knowledge about information security to act when potential risks are discovered which might have a negative impact on people and on the IKEA brand
* As a member of the Purchase Operations Area Management Team, establish and implement local communication plans, contributing to the Purchasing Operation Area goals.
* Contribute to identify and act on regional opportunities and synergies.

Required Qualifications include:
* Graduation from university/college within information, communication, informatics or marketing
* Previous professional experience in communication
* Live and share IKEA values

Job-Specific Capabilities Include:
* Ability to lead communication on a tactical level, with the strategies in mind
* Ability to translate messages, creating clarity and inspiration
* Ability to do effective presentation and facilitate meetings/workshops.
* Capability to build trust and relationships, in order to create preconditions for building long-term partnerships
* Ability to balance details and overall view, always having simplicity in mind

Job-Specific Knowledge Includes:
* Good knowledge in Brand management : Understanding of how communication affects customer perception of the IKEA brand
* Technical skills in the area of communication: knowledge in printed and digital media, layout and web publishing, Information architecture and usability
* Deep understanding of internal communication and how to tailor communication effectively to create awareness, engagement and impact, especially involving global target groups
* Knowledge of project management tools
* Understanding of IKEA and Range & Supply information landscape: business, processes (such as One IKEA Business Plan Process, IKEA Purchase Development Process (PDP); Supplier Development Process (SDP) & Develop Product Offer Process (DPOP) etc.) and organizational dimensions
* Deep knowledge of IKEA Strategic Landscape, especially IKEA Purchasing Strategy
* Deep understanding of IKEA Business model and IKEA Business model for growth
* Understanding of Democratic Design
