The Account Representative is a proactive sales position. The primary responsibility of an Account Representative is to contact businesses to present and promote our transportation solutions while growing a portfolio of customers. This position will provide consultative transportation services to their clients as he or she continually exceeds their sales objectives through building solid relationships with our customers, generating referrals, and maximizing the freight spend captured from each customer.
Organizationally, the Account Representative will report to a Sales Manager and be part of a sales team comprised of approximately 12-18 reps.
-Responsible for proactively prospecting for new customers by contacting businesses (primarily via telephone) to promote our transportation solutions; qualify and manage business referrals and leads.
-Conduct product demonstrations / web tours via the telephone and Internet with prospective customers to illustrate benefits of using Freightquote.com products and business solutions
-Routinely follow up with leads and referrals to develop relationship and solicit new business.
Make regular calls to current customers to drive sales and grow business by generating referrals, developing additional contacts and position Account Representative as a valuable resource to customers. Identify additional business opportunities that may not have been previously uncovered.
Function as a resource for customers when an issue or concern arises that warrants additional attention. Assist customer in identifying proper contact within Freightquote to assist with resolution of issue (Account Coordinator, Customer Service, etc.) and ensure that all matters are addressed in a timely manner.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Work Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant sales experience required; business to business and telephone sales experience preferred. Freight industry experience helpful but not required.

-Strong customer service skills, problem solving abilities and ability to multi-task.
-Knowledge of freight / transportation industry preferred.
-Strong PC skills with working knowledge of MS Office products.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with frequent distractions while maintaining positive attitude and focus on individual performance.
