The successful candidate will possess a B.S. or a B.E.T. from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering and preferably have 3-5 years experience with or an interest in hydro engineering and renewable energy, design projects which includes hydroelectric power generation systems and their support systems (energy modeling, turbine/generator selections, dewatering and sump pumps/piping, hydraulic fluid power systems design, power transmission lifting systems, HVAC, etc), as well as designing fish passage and trapping facilities (basic machine design including shafts, chain drives, torque limiting devices, etc). Knowledge of CAD drafting is preferable. Candidates should have passed or qualify to take the EIT exam and/or be working toward professional registration. Candidates must also be willing to travel occasionally . In addition to excellent technical skills, candidates must have sound oral and written communication skills, be self-motivated, and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
