Who We Are: The Children's Home of Reading has more than a century of experience providing care to boys and girls from the Reading/Berks County community and, more recently, throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These children are coming to us with multiple-year histories of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Other behavioral symptoms that lead the children to us include runaways, school truancy, and drug and alcohol abuse. They are coming from all walks of life, all socio-economic levels, all races, and all education levels. The Children's Home is dedicated to caring for the needs of children and families in crisis and preparing them for success in life. Services include residential as well as non-residential programs. We serve an average of 500 children each year on a 24-hour a day residential basis. We currently are seeking qualified individuals for the following positions: Youth Care Worker FT, 2nd shift position to provide direct care, supervise group and individual activities, ensure client safety and well-being. Degree and prior experience with children and youth mental health programs strongly preferred. Requires excellent written and communication skills and attention to detail. Team membership essential. Family Interventionist PT On-Call position available to work in the Lehigh Valley Community with troubled youth and families. Family Interventionist position requires Master’s Degree & 1-3 yrs exp. Bilingual applicants only Principal Position available in our alternative educational program serving adolescents with behavioral and mental health issues. Provide leadership and management to the school; supervise educational programs, faculty and staff; and manage the school facilities to promote the learning, success and achievement of each student. Requires Master’s Degree, five years administrative experience and PA Secondary Administration certification. RN Part-time, 2nd shift position to coordinate medical services and medication administration for adolescent males in residential treatment setting. Experience with mental health issues or treatment setting helpful. Requires PA license. Security Part time on-call position to monitor security functions, and respond to emergency situations as needed in a residential treatment center serving adolescent males. Requires responsible person with ability to follow directions, pay attention to detail, and work independently.
